“The bus tour of the gardens was great but at the Sistine Chapel and Museums the tour guide never showed up. The group was left on their own and we never received information regarding the history we were never taken back to the meeting point we had to pay for a taxi to get back.”

Explore Castel Gandolfo’s former papal residence at your own pace. A Vatican staff member leads a one-hour visit through the Secret Garden, followed by the Papal Apartments, private chapel, library, study, and Angelus balcony. “This is a very beautiful place in a spectacular landscape. The palace is full of amazing art and historical pieces. It is mostly silent which lends to the feeling like you must whisper. The guards outside were very friendly and helpful to my mother who walks with a cane and gave her a ride in the golf cart to the secret garden.”
