Short seasons and capped slots mean the good brazil garden tours go first. Below: the 10 to book early, what each includes and how they differ.
Spend four hours exploring Rio’s Botanical Garden and Tijuca National Forest with a Spanish-, English-, or Portuguese-speaking guide. See imperial palms, orchids, water lilies, Taunay Waterfall, and views toward Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. Vista Chinesa is included on weekdays only.
“Nice tour, Newton gave us a lot of interesting information.”
Spend an afternoon among palms, orchids, native trees, and birds at Rio’s Botanical Garden, then ride into Tijuca National Park for rainforest scenery, Taunay Waterfall, and city views. Guides such as Newton, Joao, and Alexia have earned praise for clear explanations, though the forest portion is often more scenic drive than long walk.
“Newton was an excellent guide. It was wonderful going to the waterfalls in the forest and exploring the botanical gardens.”
Visit Rio’s 346-acre Botanical Garden with a guide such as Lucia, Milene, or Erica. See royal palms, wild monkeys, the Frei Leandro pond, and an orchid house with more than 500 types, then explore on your own.
“The guide didn't really speak Spanish and although it put a lot of interest it was very difficult to understand it and it's a shame because the place is wonderful and beautiful. The transfer was by Uber so in the end we could have done it for free since we have no advantage when doing it as an organized visitAuto-translated”
Spend four hours touring Rio’s Tijuca National Park and Botanical Garden with hotel pickup, a multilingual guide, and stops at Vista Chinesa, Taunay Waterfall, and Mayrink Chapel. The park ticket is included, but you pay the Botanical Garden entrance separately. Weather and city traffic can affect the route.
“Guide super gentil, visite sous la pluie donc un peu compliqué d’apprécier tout à sa juste valeur. Nous n’avons pas compris pourquoi l’entrée du jardin botanique n’est pas incluse dans l’activité mais à payer sur place. Peut-être l’inclure dans la réservation et la payer en amont”
Set out from your Rio hotel for a five-hour private eco-tour through Tijuca Forest, the Botanical Garden, and Parque Lage. You’ll see Taunay Waterfall, the Chinese Lookout, orchids, historic garden features, and the mansion beneath Christ the Redeemer. Guides speak English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
“We had a great experience with our tour. Our tour guide was great! He was friendly and caring. We had a great time!”
Spend four hours exploring Rio’s Tijuca Forest by convertible jeep and walking through its Botanical Garden. You’ll stop at Chinese View, Emperor’s Table, waterfalls, and short trails, with a Portuguese, English, or Spanish-speaking guide. Gabriel is one guide praised for lively explanations, though the schedule can feel tight.
“agradável, mas muito rápida e com pouco tempo para observar a floresta e os animais selvagens. A visita ao jardim botânico não foi realizada pelo operador, o guia informou que as 4h era apenas para a floresta da Tijuca, contudo tinha comprado para visitar ambos os locais.”
Spend five hours with a private guide in Rio’s Tijuca Forest and Botanical Garden. You’ll visit the Chinese Viewpoint, Cascatinha Taunay, forest trails, sensory garden, orchidarium, and bromeliad greenhouse, with hotel pickup and drop-off included.
“El tour fue super bueno y muy informativo. Nos gusto mucho y lo podemos recomendar a todos. Muchas gracias por ese hermoso dia.”

“They cancelled the time slot I requested after taking my money but still took my money and did not return it. So I did not go at all . That's theft.”
Spend 10 hours exploring Holambra with an English, Portuguese, or Spanish-speaking guide. See the windmill, church, Deck of Love, and Vitória Régia Lake, then visit a flower farm growing gerberas, chrysanthemums, daisies, anthuriums, or cacti. Lunch is on your own.
“O passeio foi ótimo! A cidade de Holambra é linda. O guia Maurício e o motorista Paulo são ótimos profissionais, muito atenciosos e competentes. Além disso, o grupo pequeno permitiu melhor interação entre todos, o que deixou o passeio ainda mais agradável.”
Spend five hours with an English-, Portuguese-, or Spanish-speaking guide at Rio’s Botanical Garden and Parque Lage. See royal palms, orchids, the Japanese Garden, forest trails, and Parque Lage’s courtyard, with pickup from select areas and entrance fees included.
Pick a season, a palace or a glasshouse.
